THE FIRST FLOOR APARTMENT IS RENTED (1/1/06)
THE SECOND FLOOR APARTMENT IS RENTED (7/15/08)
Both apartments are sunny, end-units in a brick 2-family off the downtown, about midway between the "good" and "bad" sections of town in a working-class neighborhood. The building was in very poor shape when I bought it in 1999, so in addition to replacing the windows, porches and roof, there have been many renovations inside the apartments. Just off Routes 141 and 202 on a one-way street. Routes 5 and 91 are 1-2 miles away. Northampton, Easthampton and Springfield are all under 20 minutes; UMass about 1/2 hour. A convenience store, laundromat and the PVTA bus line are all within walking distance. There's a Stop and Shop, gas station, and banks/ATM's within a few miles. The Wisteriahurst Museum is around the corner.
The other people on the block are generally nice and most have lived in the neighborhood for several years. The street is being used by Holyoke as a 'model' for neighborhood revitalization so new sidewalks and old fashioned streetlights were installed a few years ago, but this is still the city - it is not going to be country-quiet. However, the apartments are nice, the porches are generous, there is a small fenced yard, and I live only 5 miles away so you're not dealing with an out of state absentee landlord.
