Easthampton Chamber of Commerce Member since 1999

About
Jo Landers

Jo Landers has been running her own business since 1991, providing a broad range of information-oriented services, including business planning, accounting, book and catalog design and typesetting, web site design, and custom PHP/MYSQL database development

A graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, which she attended as an Ada Comstock Scholar, she has an AB in Computer Programming. Prior to attending Smith, she obtained an associate's degree in Commercial Arts/Graphic Design and a certificate in Computer Aided Drafting from Northern Essex Community College.

Her business combines ongoing bookkeeping and financial analysis with one-time or less frequent projects such as catalog and book typesetting, website design and development, and creation of custom database systems. The bookkeeping services provide steady work, while the project-based jobs provide the opportunity to work creatively, problem solve, and maintain or expand her knowledge in other areas.

She lives in a small house in Easthampton with several gardens, a silly number of cats and an absolutely ridiculous amount of books.

No person or business exists in a vacuum. A local business can not be strong and healthy unless the community around it is also strong and healthy. Poverty, lack of education, pollution and disease detract from the overall health of any community and lower the quality of life for every person. Maintaining healthy communities requires commitment and support. Jo Landers was a longtime member of the Hampshire Community Action Commission Board of Directors and Head Start Policy Council. In 2008 she provided in-kind services and/or direct financial support to the following organizations:

As time allows, she also maintains and adds information to PioneerValley.info, a website she created as a community service project. She hopes that others will contribute content and use it as a resource for information about the area, or a place to discuss local issues.
