Are there any additional fees with client-managed payroll services?

Normally, only the flat monthly fee applies for the number of active employees and the states you need to report and pay payroll taxes to. However, additional fees will apply if payments can not be processed because your account is overdrawn or direct deposits can not be made because of incorrect or outdated employee banking information. These charges can get quite high; do not finalize any payroll or tax payments if you do not have the funds in your account!
