Typesetting and Design
Jo Landers has been providing typesetting services since 1988, beginning with catalogs and other materials for Northern Essex Community College (NECC). Since then she has used both Quark Xpress and InDesign, focusing on high content, information-dense documents such as catalogs, directories, books and technical manuals.
Related skills include graphics creation in Illustrator and basic photo touch-up and editing using Photoshop. File clean-up and conversion from Microsoft Word is also a common task.
With the advent of the web, long-distance clients working via email and pdf and on-demand printing, many clients now do their own print brokering, working with a printer in their local area to save on shipping costs. However, Jo Landers is able to specify, quote, and manage print work ranging from simple business cards to large quantity four color work if the client prefers.
What does this meant? The capability to take a project from concept to finished piece at a reasonable price, within deadline. Jo Landers specializes in typesetting, proofreading, basic design and project management, and draws on others for more complex design, corporate identity development, illustration work, or flash and animation work. As a print broker, she is able to compare quotes from several sources. As a project manager with a financial and management background, she makes sure your project moves along, all involved parties are kept on schedule, and work is kept within budget.
Novelty and promotional printing (t-shirts, coffee mugs, pens, bumper stickers, etc.) can also be designed and/or purchased through Jo Landers Business Services or directly from her friends at Sunraise Printing in Hadley, Massachusetts.
